Your Responsibilities as a Student or Client
When you enroll or book with us, you agree to:
- Provide Accurate Information: Your name, email, phone number, and other details must be truthful and current.
- Respectful Conduct: Treat instructors, students, and clients with respect. Disruptive, harassing, or disrespectful behavior may result in removal from classes.
- Punctuality: Arrive on time for classes and events. Late cancellations disrupt the cohort and impact learning.
- Confidentiality: What's discussed in class (personal student stories, teaching methods, etc.) stays private. Don't record or share class content without permission.
- Safe Use of Equipment: Percussion instruments require respectful handling. Use drums only as instructed and never to disturb others outside class hours.
- Compliance with Third-Party Terms: When you use Zoom, Google Forms, or other services, you also agree to their terms and privacy policies.
Intellectual Property & Content Ownership
Here's what belongs to whom:
- Our Content: All text, photos, logos, videos, course materials, and teaching methodologies are owned by Atlanta Kalakshethra LLC. You may not download, copy, or repurpose our content for commercial use without written permission.
- Performance Videos We Create: Videos shot by our team during performances are our property. These may be used for marketing, testimonials, and performance documentation. If you don't want to appear in promotional videos, let us know in advance.
- Videos Shot by Clients: If an event client records the performance on their own camera, that footage is theirs. However, they cannot use recordings for commercial purposes (paid events, streaming, advertising) without our agreement and payment.
- Student Work: Any artwork, recordings, or original work you create during classes remains your own. We may ask permission to share examples of student progress in testimonials or case studies.
- Testimonials & Photos: We may ask for permission to use your name, photo, or testimonial on our website, social media, or marketing materials. You can decline, and your decision won't affect your enrollment or services.
Class Recordings & Zoom Terms
Here's how we handle class recordings:
- Recording & Storage: All live Zoom classes are recorded and stored on our secure Zoom drive. Recordings are for student access only—not shared publicly.
- Access: You can review recordings to reinforce learning or catch a session you missed. Access is limited to enrolled students.
- Your Appearance: Recording class means your participation may be captured. By enrolling, you consent to being recorded for educational purposes. If you have privacy concerns, contact us to discuss alternatives.
- Data & Zoom Terms: When you join Zoom, you also agree to Zoom's Terms and Privacy Policy. View Zoom Terms →
Class Attendance, Cancellations & Refunds
Class Enrollment: A good-faith enrollment commitment helps us plan. We ask for consistent attendance so you (and your cohort) get the most from instruction.
- Missed Classes: If you can't attend, let us know. Recordings are available for review.
- Sick or Emergency: Life happens. One or two missed classes are fine. If you need to step out for a season, please discuss with us.
- Dropping Classes: If you'd like to leave the program, notify us in writing. You're welcome to rejoin in the next cohort.
- Refund Policy: Class fees are non-refundable after enrollment begins. If you drop within 7 days of enrollment (before first class), we'll refund fees minus a $25 processing fee.
Performance Bookings, Cancellation & Refunds
Here's how performance bookings work:
- Booking Process: Submit an inquiry through our form. We'll follow up within 24 hours to discuss your event, date, duration, and pricing.
- Confirmation: A booking is NOT confirmed until: (1) you receive a signed performance agreement, and (2) we receive your deposit (typically 50% of fee). At that point, the date is reserved.
- Payment Schedule: 50% deposit due upon signing; final 50% due 2 weeks before the performance.
- Scope of Performance: Our standard booking includes up to 2 hours of performance, setup/sound check (1 hour prior), and basic percussion equipment. Any special requests (longer duration, travel outside Atlanta metro, additional equipment) are discussed and priced separately.
- Performance Details: We'll coordinate logistics (venue, timing, parking, power requirements) during the planning phase.
Cancellation & Refund Policy:
-
Client Cancellation (by you):
- 60+ days before event: Full refund of deposit
- 30-59 days before: 50% of deposit refunded
- Less than 30 days: No refund (date is reserved, we've turned away other bookings)
- Atlanta Kalakshethra Cancellation (by us): In the rare case of illness, emergency, or natural disaster, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule. If rescheduling isn't possible, full refund is offered.
- Force Majeure: Neither party is responsible for performance failures due to circumstances beyond reasonable control (natural disaster, severe weather, government restrictions).
Performance Expectations & Liability
- Our Commitment: We will deliver professional, authentic Chenda Melam performance as described in your agreement. Our team is trained and experienced.
- Your Responsibilities: Provide access to the venue, coordinate parking/setup space, and communicate any special requirements (timing, music volume, cultural sensitivities) in advance.
- Photography & Video: You may photograph/video our performance at your event for your personal records or internal use. Commercial use (broadcast, paid streaming, advertising) requires our written approval.
- Equipment & Setup: We provide our own percussion equipment. Your venue must provide a stage/performance space, power outlet, and suitable acoustics. We'll discuss any special requirements in advance.
