To perfect his craft, he studied at Kerala Kalamandalam, the world-renowned University of Art & Culture dedicated to preserving traditional Indian performing arts. This rigorous academic and intensive practical training produced a master of traditional Kerala percussion.
With decades of performance experience across India, USA, and Kenya, Aashan initially focused on bringing authentic Chenda Melam to international audiences. But his true passion became clear: preserving this 2,000-year-old sacred tradition for diaspora communities.
